Bhaskar News, Barmer: Jan Morcha will launch a state wide campaign for the resignation of the Chief Minister. For this workshops and meetings will be organised under the auspices of Jan Morcha. This was stated by regional convenor of Jan Morcha Rajasthan Bhanwarlal Chaudhary while addressing a press conference at Mahila Mandal Barmer Agor.
Chaudhary blamed the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for the current state of affairs in Rajsthan. Chief Minister should immediately tender resignation. Chaudhary said that the Chief Minister garnered votes for her selfish motives by promising Gujjars of reservation. Now when Gujjars were demanding reservation they were being shot.
Adil Bhai of Jan Morcha alleged that dalits had been discriminated during the entire term of the state government. He said that out of Rs 195 crore given by the state government to the district for the flood relief, only Rs 70 crore had been spent. Kumhars from 17 villages had suffered great losses in the floods but they were yet to receive any compensation.
Shobhna from CRY, New Delhi, said that Jan Morcha was a state level organisation and was raising this issue throughout the state. Work is being done to strengthen people’s organisations at the local level.
Umardeen Miraj, regional coordinator of Jan Morcha said that the government was neither prepared nor had any strategy against calamities. He said had preparations been done in the past the destruction in the districts could have been avoided. Education system was severely hit during such circumstances.
On disaster management morcha convenor Mukesh Dwivedi said the present educational system could not turn a human being successful. Observing that education was main weapon of development, he said present educational system had failed to turn out progressive humans.
Mumtaz Ben, president Mahila Mandal, said the government must make preparations now so as to protect people from calamities like floods in future. She also said that the government must take steps towards permanent solution for drought. |
